 We host support meetings from 12:30 – 2:30

on the first and third Saturdays of most months.

Presentations will be held at the beginning of meetings, last for about 40 minutes, and be followed by a time for questions and discussion.

Presentation on TULSA-PRO, by Jett Jousma, BSN_RN, BA Chem, of Profound Medical.

New treatments in Prostate Cancer: The TULSA-PRO

We will discuss prostate cancer from diagnosis to intervention and follow up surveillance. This will include a summary of currently available treatment options and recent advancements in interventions that have become available in recent years – such as the TULSA-PRO treatment. Additionally, we will briefly review peer-reviewed publications and have time for question and answer afterward.

The TULSA procedure is a real-time MRI navigated procedure which uses transurethral radiation-free high intensity ultrasound to coagulate and thus destroy prostate tissue with millimeter precision which offers the chance to minimize the adverse effects or traditional treatment approaches like robotically assisted radical prostatectomy or radiation.

TULSA-PRO can be a great option for certain patient populations, particularly men on active surveillance or with radiation recurrence prostate cancer.

About the presenter:

Jett Jousma has a bachelors degree in both nursing and chemistry and is a registered nurse with well over a decade of critical care and medical device industry experience, having worked with both community and academic medical centers all across the United States. Jett has spoken at multiple medical conferences on a variety of topics as guest speaker over the years throughout his career, and he is passionate about bringing science and medicine together with the goal of helping patients. Currently in his role as representative with Profound Medical, a state of the art MRI guided Prostate Cancer and BPH treatment, Jett works to spread awareness and access to the southwest and mountain regions of the United States.
