Meetings

 We host support meetings from 12:30 – 2:30

on the first and third Saturdays of most months.

Presentations will be held at the beginning of meetings, last for about 40 minutes, and be followed by a time for questions and discussion.

Presentation by Julie Montelongo, RN, Bayer: Emotional Well-Being 

Want to learn more about prostate cancer’s impact on men who are diagnosed and their loved ones? Join us for a presentation addressing the affect a diagnosis has on emotional well-being, including guidance to help patients and caregivers start the conversation with their healthcare provider.

Bio: Julie Montelongo is a bachelor’s prepared nurse, certified in oncology, with an additional Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Julie has dedicated her entire nursing career to oncology, in both pediatric and adult oncology.

Julie transitioned from a successful accounting career into the oncology nursing profession in 2014, after graduating from Regis University in Denver. Her experience spans across a magnet-designated leading pediatric hospital, and an academic affiliated major comprehensive cancer center. She has worked in the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, ambulatory pediatric propofol clinic, ambulatory adult Clinical Acute Response Evaluation (CARE) clinic, and an adult oncology infusion center.

Julie is an active member of the Oncology Nursing Society and is the Secretary in her local Metro Denver Oncology Nursing Society chapter. She is passionate about clinical research, education, and improving the lives of patients living with cancer.
